The foundation of my approach to therapy is relational and client-centered. I strongly believe that the quality of the therapeutic relationship is the most important factor for successful therapy and I strive to approach my clients with a non-judgmental, compassionate, and understanding mind-set.
My work is holistic in nature, as I believe that all aspects of our lives, (including relationships, nutrition, sleep, etc.), have a huge impact on the way that we feel and how we function in the world. My hope is that through our work together, I can empower my clients to improve their lives and achieve their goals.
Some people come to therapy to have someone listen and support them, some to learn specific skills, some to engage in trauma treatment, and others to come up with a plan to change a particular behavior or become “unstuck.” Similarly, some people wish to work on issues from their past, some on present-day issues, and others on future planning and goal-setting. I believe that every person who walks through my door has a unique set of needs and would most benefit from an individualized approach to therapy and healing. Therefore, I draw from a variety of different theories of counseling in order to help my clients realize their goals and live more satisfying lives.

Christy periodically facilitates group therapy sessions based on interest, aimed at enhancing mental health and well-being.
**Bullying and Harassment Group**
This group is designed for middle school students who are experiencing or have previously faced bullying and/or harassment at school. The focus of this group therapy is on providing support from peers, managing and expressing feelings related to bullying, learning effective coping skills, and finding ways to assist others who witness bullying incidents. Building a therapeutic relationship within the group is essential for fostering a safe environment.
**Relaxation and Stress Management Group**
This group is open to both adolescents and adults who are interested in exploring various methods to manage stress and achieve a state of relaxation. Participants engage in a holistic approach to stress management that includes discussions on dietary changes, improving sleep quality, mindfulness techniques, and body-oriented practices like yoga. This group aims to enhance individual psychotherapy practices by equipping members with tools to change stress-provoking thought patterns.
